Ana Domingos, Catarina Homem and Joseph Paton are the scientists in Portugal who will receive financial support from a philanthropic partnership established between the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (USA), the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (USA), the Wellcome Trust (UK) And the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (Portugal)

In 2017 Imogen was accepted in a Marie Curie PhD Program in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Utrecht. The lab expanded. Raquel Mendes came in from Ipswich, UK; Vitka Gres from Croatia, both are research assistants. Noelia Martinez is a postdoc who came from Santiago de Compostela. Miguel Vasques is a physician at Curry Cabral Hospital. Chelsea Larabee has joined us for a postdoc. Bernado Arús is a Masters student from Porto Alegre, Brazil and Miguel Costa is a Master student from Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon. Andreia is back from maternity leave.
